Summer Days

The  summer is moving by so fast, as it always does lately. I took this shot of the garden this morning. Tremendous top growth on the beans and potatoes and they are starting to produce good already. I'm still hand picking potato bugs every morning but am definitely ahead of them.
Garden "selfie" from today.
In other news, well here I am with an old former farmer neighbour today out on the wildlife land. First time I have been on a horse in probably fifty years.

  1. Always good to see you, Ralph! And hey -- vacuum cleaner doesn't work on those potato bugs? I never did find the long attachment that would've allowed me to suck up the flies, with which I am still contending. Honest to Pete, there seems to be no end to them.

    1. Good luck with the flies Kate. I'm using the old Rainbow vac on a wasp nest in the porch overhang currently. Works great.

  2. You need some chickens to feed those bugs to!

    1. Gorges, I have four Bantam roosters that enjoy a few fresh potato bugs every day.

  3. Someone suggested I catch a dragonfly or two and bring them inside. Might just!
