No its not unusual to get snow in April but this one on the 16th feels like just another 2 steps backwards after the one step forward of a few days ago. Such a nice day I was inspired to fire up the old Mustang from it's winter hibernation and take a short drive on the relatively dry roads. Today it looks like I'll need to shovel snow,, maybe get out with the tractor and blade on the driveway to move the snow so it does not melt into the road and create more mud.
These frequent returns of snowfall can be disheartening but we have the return of migratory birds to lift our spirits. -Kate
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of one of my great uncle Arthur Nevard's quotes. "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick".
DeleteI no-till planted oats into 63 degree F soil. It has been rainy and cold for a week. Soil temp has dropped almost 10 degrees! The oats in the worked ground are growing like crazy! Really amazing to see how things work. Hope I don't have to replant oats.
